Do you like to bake? On Saturday, June 20, you will be able to buy freshly-ground bio wholegrain rye and spelt flour at farmer’s market Kubáň! You will be able to find it at the Eco Farm Úlovice stand, along with Czech horseradish. The rye flour is 25 Kč per kg, and the spelt flour is 40 Kč per kg. If you bake often, you will know that these flours can be sold in specialised health food stores for double the price!

Why use rye or spelt flour? Why not just use wheat? Rye is an old, non-selectively bred type of wheat, with less gluten and a slightly nutty flavor. Kolache and stuffed buns made from rye flour are more flavorful and good-smelling.

Spelt flour is more nutritious, and has less gluten than wheat. That means that people with gluten intolerance can use it. You can make bread or gingerbread with it, or mix it with rye flour.

There will also be sweet ripe strawberries and cherries, along with fresh vegetables, chicken, meat products, milk and cheeses…

There will be live music from Futur Swing Duo. Get your baskets and come fill them up at Kubáň!
